“Lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at you.”
“May the bridges I burn light the way.”
"Remis Velisque. With Oars and Sails. With all of ones might."
And with those two three quotes this is the begging of my development blog (Personal development and intellectual development).
Why? I've left Facebook. For a lot of reasons.
The number one; it does nothing but fuel the ego and waste time. The average American spends at least 8 hours a month on Facebook.
So they put it at roughly fifteen minutes a day. Now I know I spend a lot more time on Facebook then that but lets just use that number for arguments sake.
15 minutes a day x 365 days a year. That's 5475 minutes a year. There are 1440 minutes in a day. That's roughly 4 days a year you are loosing, sitting there. Lurking other peoples lives. 4 days doesn't seem like much but keeping in mind that's the average internet user so your old teacher from Kindergarten that uses Facebook etc or your eleven year old sister that has lied to the Facebook terms and conditions and just uses Facebook every now and then. Not your powerhouse users. The people that send you invites for CafeWorld or Farmville. Users with over 3,000 friends (I know some that are touching the wall of the 5,000 friends max limit).
I'm not going to advertise I'm not a Facebook user. That just excessive ego stroking. I'm just going to go silently on this one. Just. Stop. Posting.
Facebook isn't the only thing. I've deleted a lot of my profiles and accounts of other social media websites.
This is a rebuild. A refurbishment. A reboot.
There is so much to do in life but only so little time. At 21 years of age, there is nothing socially holding me back from achieving anything I want. Unless its related to people. I suck so much with those things.
The quotes up there are reference things I do in my life. I burn bridges when I don't want to see people. A lot of people hate me, including those I love. And that last quote is just something that gets me through when the odds are stacked against me.
Finally have my own to add.
"If the end of 2012 is going to be the end of the world, then live every day like its your last."
